While teammate O.J. Mayo declared for the NBA Draft a week ago, USC forward Davon Jefferson and center Taj Gibson are on the fence when in regards to the NBA Draft.
This past weekend, Gibson return home to New York for the weekend to mull his decision with members of his family. It is not known what Gibson will do, although he did pledge to stay at USC during the team’s postseason banquet.
On the other hand, Davon Jefferson appears a little more certain of his future plans. According to Scott Wolf of the Los Angeles Daily News, Jefferson has told several teammates that he intends to make himself available for the NBA draft, although it is not clear if he will hire an agent.
“He said he’s going pro,” said an anonymous teammate in an interview with the Daily News.
Jefferson, who took three years to qualify for college, may be running into academic trouble again. It is entirely possible that he may not be in good academic standing so he might feel forced to make the jump to the NBA.
