Pat Ruel Thinks Pete Carroll is a Beautiful Women

Pat RuelApparently USC offensive line coach Pat Ruel might love the Trojans’ head coach Pete Carroll just a little more than he really should.

Earlier this week CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd wrote an interesting article regarding Ruel’s career accomplishments, ability to recruit as well as any assistant coach in college football, and decision to leave the NFL’s New York Giants in order to come coach at USC.

Carroll worked all the angles. The two had been assistants together at Arkansas in 1977. USC’s coach used picturesque Manhattan Beach to his advantage, taking his recruit to lunch there on a sun-splashed day.

“Pete’s like a beautiful woman,” Ruel said after taking the job. “The closer you get, you better look out. He is very charismatic. He can smile and make you feel like a million dollars.”

I wonder which beautiful woman Ruel thinks that Carroll reminds him of? Is he like Scarlett Johansson, who also has a pale complexion? Or does Carroll remind him of Angelina Jolie, who is quite the daredevil (see Tomb Raider and Mr. and Mrs. Smith)? Or is Carroll dark underneath like Tyra Banks?

We may never know the answer because I’m sure Ruel won’t feel comfortable answering those types of questions. Maybe, next time, he’ll think a little more carefully about his word choice when describing the head coach and his boss.
