At this point in time, I assume that most of you have already grown tired of the constant Brett Favre coverage that surrounds the major media networks, primarily ESPN. Each reported story, whether by Wendi Nix, Rachel Nichols, or Chris Mortensen, is really no different from the one that was reported just a day earlier. So to finally end this long standoff between Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers, it is time that a third party get involved.
That third party, neither the Jets nor the Bucs, is none other than Los Angeles’s very own professional football team, the Avengers. While Brett Favre may be hesitant to make the jump from one of the NFL’s elite franchises in the Packers to a subpar Arena Football League team, there still remain several good reasons as to why the move would be beneficial for Favre.
AFL teams love to advertise
If you have ever seen an AFL team’s jersey than you are most likely aware that it is covered in advertisements. Since Brett Favre is already comfortable in Wrangler, the Avengers could put a nice big Wrangler logo on the side of the pants. Additional promotions such as “Denim Night” or “Jean Shorts Day” (a.k.a. Florida Gator tailgate party) would increase revenue for both Favre and Wrangler.
It’s a Quarterback League
In the AFL, a team must have an accurate quarterback who deliver the ball to his receivers quickly if it is to become successful. Favre would thrive in an AFL offense where he would be able to throw the ball on nearly ever play and rack up a bunch of touchdowns. He’d be able to possibly even win an Arena Bowl title, which is at least a championship of some sort. Heck, it’s better than a tractor title or whatever they got down in Kiln, Mississippi.
You’re in LA
During the ESPYs this past month, Favre told reporters that he and his family were all enjoying their little vacation in Tinseltown. Therefore, why not make that a 5 months vacation instead of a few days. Favre may be a “country guy,” but there are still many activities that will make him feel at home in Los Angeles. The fishing may be great on Mississippi lakes but wait until you try the Pacific Ocean. There are some hunting areas within a a couple of hours of Los Angeles so he could certainly bring his buddies along too. Trust me Brett, you won’t be bored in LA.
John Madden isn’t too far away
At this point John Madden’s man crush on Brett Favre has been well-documented so I’ll save you the details here. What make Brett excited and Deanna worried is the fact that Madden lives just a few hours north in the Bay Area.
More Commercials
Since he’ll be playing in Hollywood, Favre may have more time to work on some of his commercials. Now, instead of just promoting Wrangler, Brett will also be able to endorse other products as well. This will lead to even more publicity and attention, which seem to be the driving force in his “comeback” decision. Heck, maybe he could run every single commercial during the Super Bowl. The possibilities are endless.
