Beckham to Reportedly to Stay in Italy

by Los Angeles Galaxy

David Beckham might be staying with AC Milan after all.Apparently MLS deadlines mean very little in the world of professional soccer.

Despite the fact that the Friday deadline set by Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has come to pass, David Beckham’s permanent transfer to AC Milan from the LA Galaxy is looking more like a realistic possibility. According to SkySport24 and Goal.com, the two clubs have reached an agreement to complete the move for about $15 million.

Beckham is currently on loan from the Galaxy, and is still expected to return to Los Angeles by March 9 for the start of the MLS season. But after his success in Italy, Milan has made no secret of the fact that they wish to keep Beckham in Italy.

It just goes to show you how little power Major League Soccer has when it comes to negotiating contracts.
