Just two weeks after being drafted, former USC basketball players DeMar DeRozan and Taj Gibson have signed with their new teams.
On Thursday, DeRozan, who was selected ninth overall by the Raptors in the June 25th NBA Draft, agreed to a deal with Toronto. While the Raptors didn’t announce financial terms, it has been reported that DeRozan can earn nearly $2.3 million in the first year of his deal. It was also said that the contract is a two year deal, and Toronto holds team options for the next two seasons.
Gibson, who was selected 26th overall by the Chicago Bulls, also signed a deal with his new team on Thursday, but according team policy, financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
