With the first week of the college football season in the books, it’s once again time for the weekly blogpoll, where we rank the top 25 teams in the country. I’m a little swamped with work so I’ll make it quick:
- The top 3, Florida, Texas, and USC, are pretty standard right now so I didn’t feel that I needed to mix it up a whole lot.
- I’m not ready to give up on Oklahoma just yet. They lost their Heisman Trophy winner during the first half, and lost by just one point with a a guy under center, who had never played on the collegiate level. If Bradford returns soon, this is still a very good Oklahoma squad.
- Alabama, Oklahoma State, and Cal, all had marquee wins on Saturday – hence their rise in the polls.
- Clemson took the biggest rise in my poll. After watching both Virginia Tech and Clemson play on Saturday, I think there is a great chance that the Tigers finally take the ACC crown this year.
- Boise State may have beaten Oregon, but they didn’t look good at all. In fact, I thought they were pathetic.
- While I didn’t place them in the top 25, UCLA is on the cusp of a spot if they can beat Tennessee this Saturday in Knoxville.
