Chargers-Saints game breakdown

by NFL

Kassim Osgood? Already forgotten.

LT? I barely remembered his name

Manumaleuna? We miss you

Cromartie? I like the new #31 better (Vasher)

Jackson? If i chipped in a few bucks would you come back?

McNeill? Even though we like Dombrowski, you’ve always been the one for us Marcus.

A loss is hard to take, even in the preseason, but the bolts should not have a sad flight home from Katrina, louisiana… I mean New Orleans

Good #1- Special teams made the Saints offense start behind their own 20 yard line just about every time they got the ball. Impressive. Very impressive. A

Good #2- Rivers showed his worth by devouring yardage even without Vincent Jackson. Floyd, Naanee, and especially Gates, impressing with their consistency. Passing offense B+

Good #3- On a 3rd and 1 in the 1st quarter, Mathews took a FB fake HB toss to the left and turned on some sideline speed to get the first down. Speed to go with that power style of running is dangerous. Hester’s touchdown made me remember his potential when he came out of LSU. Rushing offense B/B+

Good/Bad- Cason played well and his hustle was noticeable, But the missed interception on the goal line that resulted in a touchdown for the Saints reminded me why he isn’t a receiver. Vasher impressed. Stuckey impressed (except for the missed tackle on the sideline that resulted in a 76 yard catch and run). Jammer was flawless. Weddle was Mr. consistent. Secondary B

Bad- D-line was non-existent. D

Bad- Pass rush needs to make a statement. D

So far this preseason has showed what everyone expected to see already, a Chargers team with better chemistry and attitude than the last three years. Believe it… The offseason was most assuredly addition by subtraction.
