World peace has been sought out for thousands of years and while no country has found such success, the city of Los Angeles has. Metta World Peace takes the sixth man role off the Lakers’ bench and has had solid production so far this season.

While the Odom trade is still a head scratcher until another deal is made, Metta is making the Lakers front office look like there might be a method to their madness. Although he isn’t nearly the same player he once was, World Peace has always had the potential to be a wild card/X-factor for a game or series. His defensive abilities and instincts combined with Mike Brown’s coaching philosophies make it hard for Brown to take him off the floor. He spaces the court and makes the extra pass when it’s there. He is an NBA champion who has proven he can step up in big moments. He flexes and kisses his arms and talks to the crowd every once in awhile. He leads a second unit of Blake, McRoberts, Murphy, and Kapono that would have most coaches holding their breath with a lineup like that in. Heck, he’s even been knocking down open jumpers lately. (Laker fans know that this can be a rarity.) With all that, who else is better to lead the Laker bench? … [visit site to read more]
